Y6 Geography

Y6 were using atlases to find the location of different mountain ranges from around the world, particularly the Himalaya which is what we will be learning about this term.

Looking for signs of autumn 🍂

Preschool went for a walk in our school grounds, and we have been looking for signs of autumn. 🍁 We went to the spiritual garden to observe the leaves changing on our trees. 🌳

Y3 Geography

The children have been using atlases to find out which country New York is in.

Y6 Homework Projects

This term, Y6 were asked to make a model of a mountain or a mountain range. We had an incredible display of homework projects to show off at our coffee afternoon. Don’t they look spectacular! 🏔️👏🏻

Winter

In Reception, the children have been learning about winter. They had chance to spot scenes of winter on a wonderful walk around the school grounds, they learnt about wearing appropriate clothes in winter to keep warm. They had the opportunity to explore freezing and melting with real life snow. They also painted some beautiful winter scenes.

Year 4 History

Year 4 looked at maps today to see if they could find place names influenced by the Ango-Saxons.

Y1 Geography

To help us understand how cold it is in the North and South Pole, Y1 dipped their hand into ice cold water to get a feel of what the temperatures would be like if we were to visit.

Y1- Geography

Today in Geography, Y1 learnt about Brazil and Australia. We had a carnival afternoon looking at Rio Carnival traditions. We tried Brazilian foods, made carnival masks and did some Samba dancing.

Y6 food tasting

The children in Y6 have enjoyed trying some Chin Chin that George kindly brought in after we read about it in our class novel Boy in the Tower. Chin Chin is a sweet and crunchy fried dough snack popular in Nigeria and other West African countries.

Homework coffee afternoon

A huge well done and thank you for all of your amazing homework projects. We can tell how much effort has gone into them. 🏅

Y6 The Himalaya 🏔️

This term, Year 6 are learning about mountains and are focusing on the Himalayan mountain range. They began by identifying different mountain ranges around the world and then used the atlases to locate the countries that the Himalayas pass through. They found that they span across 6 countries: Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Bhutan, Nepal and China.

Painting in preschool ❤️🎨☺️

Today our preschoolers had so much fun creating sea life art! 🌊🎨

We used special sea animal stampers to make colorful underwater pictures. 🐠🐙🐢 The children loved pressing the stampers to see which ocean friend would appear next! 💙✨

Preschool went on our second CAFOD Lent Walk! 🚶‍♀️💛🪴

We had a lovely surprise on the way when we saw Mr Keen bringing some beautiful flowers to plant, getting everything ready for spring. 🌼🌷 The children enjoyed stopping to look at them and talking about how they will grow.

During our walk we looked at all of God’s wonderful world around us. We spotted lots of spring flowers beginning to blossom and enjoyed the sun shining as we walked together. ☀️ It was a lovely opportunity to talk about how the world changes in spring and to appreciate the beauty of nature.
