From tomorrow, each morning we will have a selection of fruit and vegetables available alongside our breakfast offering of bagels and crumpets. If children wish, they may take one piece of fruit to save for their snack at break time.
This new fruit and vegetable scheme is being funded by ‘Tesco Stronger Starts’.
In preschool today we decided to show people in our school environment how much we care about them. π₯° We made some lovely cards and brought some delicious chocolates. Then we went around school showing random acts of kindness to others. π₯°

Year 4 have been thinking about different parts of the body and how they move when comparing movements and skills.

We had such an incredible day at Martin Mere. We loved learning about the wetlands and following Avaβs clues on the treasure hunt. It was great to learn about the wildlife that call Martin Mere their home.

Year 6 took part in a class prayer and liturgy in our school spiritual garden before going on a walk around the local area to observe signs of spring linked to the creation story.

Year 4 loved our Big Lent Walk today. We decided to try and look for the colours of the rainbow in nature, which is one of our Generation Wild badge tasks. We talked about how grateful we are for these special gifts from God. πΈ πΌ

Year 6 have had a great day at Animate Youth Ministry in St. Helens. They took part in lots of different activities to develop teamwork, resilience and perseverance.

We have had a great P.E lesson today working on our agility. Children focused on how to stop and start safely and working on arriving in the correct position to collect the ball.

Y6 enjoyed a visit from an optometrist to learn about our eyes and the role of an optician. We learned about different eye conditions and were able to try on the special glasses that are used during eye tests.

ππ₯ We are pleased to announce that Tesco are funding fruit and vegetables for us again this year.
ππ₯Starting on Monday, before school a selection of fruit and vegetables will be placed near the main entrance to school. Children are welcome to choose a piece of fruit or a vegetable to eat before going into class, or to save until break time.

Our children have been out in the Autumn sunshine with our Chair of Governors, Mrs Hunt, planting our Autumn plants. What a fantastic way to spend an Autumn morning, listening to the birds sing as they plant. A huge thank you to Mr and Mrs Hunt for all their help today. We can’t wait to spend some time in here appreciating all their hard work.

Year 6 took part in World Mental Health Day by wearing something yellow. We also discussed about how to look after our mental health and why it is important. The children produced posters to show their understanding.

π§ π World Mental Health Day 2025 π π§ On Friday, our School Council spoke to the whole school aboutΒ World Mental Health DayΒ and why we were wearing yellow β to show support and raise awareness for mental health. They also launched aΒ Kindness Challenge, encouraging everyone to be extra kind to others throughout the week. It was a lovely reminder that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference

The cold didnβt bother us as we splashed, poured, and laughed together, staying active and having fun βοΈπͺ£
Outdoor play in all seasons helps children build confidence, resilience, and a love for learning ππΏ
Tesco are continuing to support us by providing fruit and vegetables to school. The fruit trolley is available throughout the day. At breaktime our Y6 monitors place it near the entrance to the playground, so that children can help themselves to a healthy snack.


Today our Preschool children enjoyed a lovely Hungry Caterpillar picnic πππ
The children explored the story together before sharing lots of tasty healthy foods during our picnic. We talked about healthy eating, different fruits and our favourite parts of the story ππ
This activity supported childrenβs learning within the EYFS through Communication and Language, Literacy and Understanding the World π

πΈπΌπ· Today some of our Preschool children enjoyed a lovely walk around the school grounds. πΆββοΈπΆββοΈ As we explored, the children noticed the beautiful flowers growing around us and took time to admire their bright colours and wonderful shapes. πΊπ»πΉπΌ
πβ¨ The children reflected on how thankful they are for Godβs amazing creation and were inspired to hold an impromptu Celebration of the Word ππ to thank God for the flowers π·πΈ and the wonderful world He has made. πβοΈππ¦π
π It was a very special moment filled with awe, wonder and appreciation. One child beautifully summed up our thoughts by saying, βI love Godβs flowers.β πΌππ₯°
πΏπΊ We are so proud of the children for recognising the beauty in Godβs creation, taking time to pause and appreciate it, and giving thanks for the many blessings around us. πβ¨ππ

This afternoon, Y6 took part in some first aid training with Carmel from Red Cross. The children learned how to check for a response from a person, to check if an unresponsive person is breathing and then how to put them into the recovery position and how to perform chest compressions.
The children also learned how to recognise the signs that someone is choking and how to help them.
